Hi, I’m John! I’ve been playing guitar for more than 30 years and teaching for close to 20, and one of the things I enjoy most is helping students experience that moment when something they once thought was too difficult suddenly clicks.
I work with guitar students from beginner through advanced levels, focusing on everything from technique and rhythm to music theory, soloing, and improvisation. I want students to understand not only how to play, but also how music works so they can become more confident and independent musicians.
While building strong skills is important, I think lessons should also be exciting. There is nothing better than watching a student realize they can finally play a song, riff, or solo they never thought they could.
I still remember that feeling from when I first started playing guitar, and I love helping my students experience it for themselves. My goal is to keep students motivated, challenged, and excited to pick up their guitar and play.
