Korean violinist So Young has been actively performed various genres of music in New York City since 2014. In 2017, she was selected as one of rising Korean musicians based in New York City by the Korean government to perform at concerts in Alaska and was invited back for the following year.
So Young was also as the first violinist of the string ensemble at pianist Richard Clayderman's World Tour in 2018. She served as first violinist in Queensboro Symphony Orchestra and as Union City Philharmonic Orchestra. She currently serves as first violinist in Regina Opera company and Mimesis ensemble.
Committed to making the world a better place through music, So Young’s work often takes her beyond the concert stage and into the community. She appears at free concerts to deliver quality music experience throughout New York City.
So Young began playing violin at the age of four. Her passion for music encouraged her to pursue music education in the U.S. since 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s degree in violin performance from Mannes School of Music.
