Cara

Cara started playing violin when she was five years old. In middle school, she joined the Manhattan Chamber ensemble. There, she played tango music with the esteemed Devrie Lewis, Emmanuel Triffilio, and Latin Grammy-winning bassist, Pedro Giraudo. Throughout high school, she was Principal second-violin in the Siwanoy Sinfonietta and Catalyst Youth Orchestra, and she played under Charles and Annbritt DuChateau, two current Broadway conductors.

In addition to violin, Cara is diverse in her musical accomplishments. She is a skilled pianist and guitarist, playing in acoustic bands throughout high school. She is an alto singer in the Immaculate Conception Adult Choir, and she had the honor of teaching ukulele in Kitwe, Zambia. Simultaneously, Cara attended the prestigious Manhattan School of Music Precollege program as a classical harp major; she was Principal in the Symphonic Orchestra, studied under Susan Jolles, and performed under the baton of Felipe Tristan and Tanatchaya Chanphanitpornkit. She was also a part of the New England Conservatory Summer Orchestra Institute and the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar. Furthermore, in 2024, she performed at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium with the New Jersey Youth Symphony, of which she is an active member. There, she played alongside Broadway legend and Tony Award winner, Norm Lewis, and under the baton of Helen Cha-Pyo.

Currently, Cara attends Fordham University, where she majors in music and sits as the principal harpist for her school’s Symphony Orchestra. She has taught music lessons for many years and is honored to share her passions through education.
