Chiwen has been teaching piano to students ages 5-60 since she started her own family in Westchester 20 years ago. As a mother, Chiwen understands the importance of personalizing lessons around students’ learning styles and needs. With her extensive teaching experiences, Chiwen is able to quickly identify the best approach to implement in order to maximize students’ potential and the outcome of the lessons. Chiwen believes that her teaching goal should not be limited to only helping students build a solid foundation and master the techniques, but also to teach the students the joy of playing the piano. More importantly, she guides students to apply the skills learned from playing the piano to different perspectives of learning and life. Her love for teaching and music is infectious. Parents often tell her that students look forward to their weekly lessons. Her patient, encouraging, and soft-spoken demeanor lets her build a connection with students quickly and help her students gain the confidence in learning. 

Chiwen holds a master’s degree in piano performance from New York University.
