Private Lessons with Andrew
Andrew
Andrew began playing piano at age 7 and quickly found a lifelong love of music. He played alto saxophone, guitar and drums in middle school before settling on piano as a main instrument after discovering jazz pianists Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson while in high school. While majoring in jazz studies at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio Andrew had the opportunity to play piano professionally in jazz groups as well as in churches, at weddings and with Ohio’s premier salsa group, The Noe Salsa Project. After stints performing and teaching in Austin, Texas and Richmond, Virginia, Andrew settled in NYC to focus on composing and playing jazz piano. In 2021 he published a book of transcribed and analyzed piano solos by legendary jazz pianist David Kikoski. Andrew currently lives in Harlem where he performs regularly in various jazz groups and enjoys sharing his love of music with students as a piano teacher.
